Age-Related Macular Degeneration - AMD

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is an eye disease that can blur and distort the sharp, central vision you need for activities like reading, typing on a computer, and driving. “Age-related” means that it often happens in people in the later years of their lives. “Macular” means it affects a part of your eye called the macula. At the Anand Retina Centre we use the latest in technology and medications to slow, stop and sometimes even reverse the effects of AMD.

Diabetic Macular Edema - DME

Diabetic retinopathy is caused by ongoing damage to the small blood vessels of the retina. These vessels can leak fluid leakage into the retina that can lead to swelling of the surrounding tissue, including the macula and ultimately vision loss. People who suffer from diabetic retinopathy can develop DME. At the Anand Retina Centre we work in conjunction with your Diabetes therapy to reduce and halt the impact of DME on your vision.

Eye

Branch Vein Occlusion

The eye's retina has one main artery and one main vein. When branches of the retinal vein become blocked, it is called branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). When the vein is blocked, blood and fluid spills out into the retina. The macula can swell from this fluid, affecting your central vision. At the Anand Retina Centre we are experts in identifying and treating BVO to ensure the best possible medical outcome.

Retinal Detachments

Retinal detachment describes an emergency situation in which a thin layer of tissue (the retina) at the back of the eye pulls away from the layer of blood vessels that provides it with oxygen and nutrients. Retinal detachment is often accompanied by flashes and floaters in your vision. At the Anand Retina Centre we seek to diagnose the issue immediately and provide the essential treatment required.

Macular Hole

A macular hole is a small break in the macula, located in the center of the eye's light-sensitive tissue called the retina. The macula provides the sharp, central vision we need for reading, driving, and seeing fine detail. A macular hole can cause blurred and distorted central vision. As with detachments, the Anand Retina Centre will diagnose the issue quickly, then determine and execute the optimal healing strategy.

Comprehensive Retina Treatments

The Anand Retina Centre is there for all of your Retina needs. We pride ourselves on both our technical and scientific expertise as well are our ability to compassionately connect with our patients.
